Located on Butler Street in Lawrenceville, The Vandal stands out for its casual atmosphere and commitment to high-quality ingredients. Owner Joey Hilty and Executive Chef Csilla Thackeray prioritize local, seasonal sourcing, based on strong relationships with farms. In addition to ethical sources of animal products, they also cook with foraged ingredients, and with produce from Who Cooks For You Farm, Penn's Corner Farm Alliance, Tiny Seed Farm, be.wild.er farm, and Churchview Farm. Sustainably sourced ingredients are just one of the many principles that has earned The Vandal a Gold Designation from the Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurant Program.

Ethical Farm Sources

Burns Heritage Farm: pastured chicken, pastured eggs, pastured lard

Jamison Farm: grass-fed lamb
